Art That Tells A Story
Wheatgrass Arts & Gallery was started to provide artists in the Glasgow region a venue to show their work. Owner Mary Fahlgren displays her oil paintings and ceramics alongside the works of 20 other area artists. The mediums and styles vary, but Fahlgren has noticed a common thread: each region has its own representation of the West through art.
“In eastern Montana our art tells a story of who we are and where we’ve been,” she says.
Each artist’s work at Wheatgrass Arts & Gallery is indicative of the area’s history and culture. Many artists create works based upon wildlife, architecture, and landscapes in the area or photographs of times gone by.
“We depict what affects us and makes us who we are,” says Fahlgren.
Wheatgrass Arts & Gallery showcases the talents of these artists, with a rotating artist-of-the-month show and artists reception the first Friday of each month. The gallery also brings art education to the area with lectures and classes for all ages and abilities.
Wheatgrass Arts & Gallery is located at 523 2nd Avenue South in Glasgow. For more information, call (406) 230-0148.
